Job Description
Position: Intern
Department: Destination Services
Exemption Status: Non-Exempt
Position Reports to: Director, Destination Services and Vice President, Destination Services
General Description
The destination services internship provides in-depth learning experience about destination marketing organizations. With a focus on destination services (DS), this internship will offer opportunities to discover what it takes to prepare for major conventions, sporting, and unique events.
Responsibilities (including, but are not limited to the following)
- Learn the basic operation of ACVB’s CRM (customer relationship management technology)
- Assist with preparations for site visits, Connects, FAMs (familiarization trips), and other DS related events
(activities associated with this will include confirming hotel and site visit itineraries) - Organize and update the destination services resource library
- Conduct research for the DS team
- Shadow team members on site visits and related meetings
- Assist with ordering, tracking, and distribution (brochures, buttons, promotional materials, and related
merchandise) - Provide on-site logistical assistance for special projects and events at the GWCC
- Assist with tracking client services activities
- Assist with department phone lines
Knowledge & Skills
- Excellent technology-based skillset to include knowledge of Microsoft Office software programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Basic understanding of and demonstrated interest in Atlanta’s hospitality industry, travel and tourism

Education & Work Experience
- Currently pursuing a college degree in hospitality management or a related discipline
Additional Information
- Work Hours: Monday – Thursday, 20 hours/week during normal, business hours
- Work Environment: Standard, temperature-controlled office environment with moderate office noise level
- Work Location: This is a part-time, on-site position located in the Atlanta office four days a week, for a
maximum duration of 12 weeks - Physical Requirements: Light lifting of up to 25 lbs. Note: the physical demands described here are
representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of

- Academic credit: If an intern wishes to receive academic credit for the internship, it will be the intern’s
responsibility to make arrangements with their school.
